Paulette Sweeney-Goodwin, Managing Director, Yarmouth Hospital Foundation, accepts a $4,300.00 donation to the Foundation for Oncology from retired RCMP Superintendent, Hubert Robicheau, representing the N.S. RCMP Veterans Association (Yarmouth region). The N.S. RCMP Veterans Association raised the funds by way of a province wide lottery, with each region receiving part of the proceeds for a local charity. This is another example of community spirit at its best – thank you!
Paulette Sweeney-Goodwin, Managing Director, Yarmouth Hospital Foundation, accepts a $2,000.00 donation to the Foundation from Lloyd Wallis, Staff Sgt. Retired, representing the N.S. RCMP Veterans Association (Yarmouth region). The N.S. RCMP Veterans Association raised $14,000.00 through raffles and fundraising in 7 regions across the province, with each region receiving $2,000.00 for a local charity. A huge thank you to Madame Mouna Westergard and her Entreprise Sociale grade 11 students from École secondaire de Par-en-Bas who dropped by the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation with a $400 donation for our Regional Hospital. The O2 (Options and Opportunities) students, also known as ‘les Fermiers de Par-en-Bas’, grow fruits, vegetables, plants and herbs. Each year they sell their harvest in May (for Mother’s Day) and again in the fall. They give back to their community by donating a portion of their proceeds. Again, thank you for your wonderful donation to the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation! You are making a difference in health care in your community! Merci beaucoup! Vawn Jeddry (L), VP Health, Safety & Environment for JV Driver, recently presented a donation in memory of Erika Elkington to Paulette Sweeney-Goodwin, YHF Managing Director. Erika was born at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital in 1985. Her name is now on the Foundation’s Wall of Honour under Fellows.
Masons Wade Cleveland (left) and Ken Wheelans (right) of the Hiram Lodge present a cheque for $10,000 in support of the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation’s 2015 Christmas Appeal. Because of the Masonic Foundation we were able to meet our commitment to fund fourteen new infection control units for the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Special thanks to our local Hiram Lodge for sponsoring the Foundation’s request.
Oct 2004: YHF board member Mark Muise presented an Exemplary Service award to J. Gordon Wood for his unwavering commitment to the development and restructuring of the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation from 1993 onward.
Oct 2004: Women’s Auxiliary representatives Anne Robichaud (center) and Yvonne LeBlanc accept an Exemplary Service Award from Ron Horrocks, Chair of the South West Health board. The Auxiliary, established in 1907, was honoured for making the Yarmouth Regional Hospital the thriving complex that it is today.
Oct 2004: YHF board member Patricia Caldwell presented an Exemplary Service award to Mrs. Ruth Pink. Mrs. Pink and her late husband Irving chaired the hospital expansion campaign that resulted in $10,000,000 being raised towards the project.
