Finding & Keeping Doctors is a Priority

Many of us in the Tri-Counties today know that it’s not easy to find a family doctor. That’s why the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation jumped on board the initiative to retain and recruit doctors. Although the Foundation’s traditional role is to purchase equipment, “it became clear that we should, and we must, do this for the benefit of our hospital and our community,” says former Board Chair Dr. Harold Cook.

The Physician Recruitment and Retention Project is truly a community initiative for the Tri-Counties, and the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation is pleased to be a part of this initiative.  Nancy Ellis is the Community Navigator, hired to lead the community efforts in southwestern Nova Scotia to attract and retain doctors.
