The Yarmouth Hospital Foundation (YHF) is proud to receive the prestigious distinction of accreditation granted by the Standards Program with Imagine Canada.
Imagine Canada is an organization whose mission is “to strengthen Canadian charities and nonprofits so they can better serve individuals and communities both here and around the world.”
In bestowing this accreditation, Imagine Canada has recognized the Foundation’s excellence and compliance in five fundamental areas of operations: board governance, financial accountability and transparency, fundraising, staff management, and volunteer involvement.
“Because it is the YHF’s mission to support and enhance the Yarmouth Regional Hospital as a community and regional centre of excellence in healthcare, it is important that the Foundation is not only a good steward of the funds entrusted to us, but is also recognized as such through accreditation,” says Board Chair Neil LeBlanc.
The Foundation is pleased to join the group of just three other hospital foundations in the province and more than 200 charitable and nonprofit organizations nationwide that have earned this symbol of trust.
“This means that the YHF has become one of the ultimate professional charitable organizations in Nova Scotia,” LeBlanc says.
“Fundraising is becoming an increasingly essential role in the provision of healthcare” he adds.
